Emergency Management and Disaster Response

Our Emergency Management and Hazard Mitigation (EM&HM) program is built on the expertise of management and staff that have extensive direct experience with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and state and local emergency management agencies. Our staff is comprised of former Federal Coordinating Officers, public managers and technical consultants (CPAs, auditors, engineers, estimators, architects, construction managers and SMEs) who have managed numerous disaster efforts.

Disasters happen. They are defined by chaos, and defined by the unpredictable elements that typically arise. Yet a good disaster plan covers a wide range of imagined scenarios and is nimble enough to shift with ground zero realities. It is our experience that disaster response is directly proportional to disaster preparedness.

iParametrics assists it clients with the identification of essential functions and services, critical staff and resources, and in planning for resumption of operations after a natural or man-made disaster.  Our approach is based on organizational best practices for disaster response and recovery developed through our many years of experience and consistent with ASIS SPC.1-2009 (Organizational Resilience: Security, Preparedness, and Continuity Management Systems).

Training and Exercises:  Testing real-world outcomes is crucial. iParametrics will empower your organization to exercise its plan and train your staff within key disaster recovery areas.  As part of our preparedness capability, we employ certified experts who bring deep knowledge and hands-on experience in preparing your organization to respond to a disaster event.  Utilizing best practices developed through the execution of numerous disaster operations, our team will deliver quality results. Our trainers are certified in all areas of response, recovery, mitigation, debris, cost estimating (CEF) and cost management.

Response and Recovery

Response and Recovery operations can be highly complex, often at times taking months and even years to implement and close out.  When a disastrous event does occur, it is crucial to follow the proper procedures when seeking recovery funding from the PA Program as well as the complex array of other Federal and State funding programs. On-site assistance in the event of a disaster can provide the critical framework to help your community manage its recovery operations.

iParametrics staff has the knowledge and expertise that can only be gained from working in multiple state and local emergency preparedness offices and applying for, managing, and disbursing PA funding.  We have an established and proven framework for disaster program management and operations and will leverage this extensive knowledge and experience of FEMA and state disaster programs to ensure that your response and recovery operations are properly managed to maintain accountability, and to maximize the ability to obtain reimbursement for eligible costs in the event of a federal disaster or emergency declaration.   We can assist with all areas of FEMA program implementation including PA, HMGP, LTCR and Debris.

Our staff will help transition your operations from disaster response, to recovery, to close out, to Organizational Resilience for future disasters.

Hazard mitigation is the process by which we reduce the destructive and disruptive effects of future disasters.  Mitigation efforts generally offer the best and most cost-effective methods of addressing the impacts associated with disasters.  FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) may provide the opportunity for funding to states, tribal governments, local governments and eligible non-profits for eligible mitigation activities both pre- and post-disaster.

The iParametrics Team will provide personnel with substantial expertise in these programs to educate and help counsel your organization in mitigation opportunities with the goal of reducing or eliminating long-term risk from hazards and their effects.  Our staff will also provide guidance on the possible development of mitigation projects under the various mitigation grant programs (HMGP, PDM, FMA, RFC and SLR programs) to complement and leverage PA expenditures to achieve even greater and more comprehensive mitigation solutions.

Risk Ass

iParametrics has the capability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop a mitigation plan to avoid or minimize the undesired effects of a disaster event. These assessments will cover all hazards, including those resulting from natural disasters, nuclear disasters, nuclear power plant accidents, chemical spills and explosions, and chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction.

Our mitigation approach is comprehensive, as is the knowledge and experience of our extended mitigation support team. We employ disaster planners, emergency planning generalists, engineers, policy specialists, geospatial analysts, risk analysts, geographers, sociologists, natural hazard specialists, security specialists, and technological hazard subject matter specialists. These personnel are well versed in current mitigation programs at all levels, as well as new and innovative approaches.
