NIEHS Gap Analysis of Campus and Zone Perimeter Study
October 31, 2024Portland, Oregon Incident Response
April 22, 2024The Borough of Hamburg is in Sussex County, New Jersey, and is home to just over 3,200 citizens. Beginning in 2020, the Borough was hit with several subsequent and simultaneous diasters, including the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricane Isaias, which severely damaged this environmentally fragile area of New Jersey.
SITUATION
iParametrics began working with the Borough’s Office of Emergency Management in March 2020 to support disaster recovery, grant writing, and hazard mitigation. We supported recovery through funding following the COVID-19 pandemic and continued to find opportunities for the Borough to build resilience and mitigation measures to be better prepared for the future.
TASK
We supported the Borough through the FEMA Public Assistance recovery process related to multiple disasters, including receiving the Borough’s largest obligation of federal funds, and continued with additional grant writing support, including hazard mitigation funding.
ACTION
One of the additional grants we wrote for the Borough was for the American Rescue Plan Firefighter Grant Program, which helps local and regional fire departments to provide protective equipment for their first responders. The iParametrics grant writing team assisted them with the application for turn out gear, including funding budgets and evidence of unmet needs, as well as grants for hazard mitigation funding.
RESULT
The Borough was awarded $47,000 from the Fire Fighter Grant. The award was the 3rd highest in Sussex County. In addition, we worked with the Borough to receive one of the few hazard mitigation grants following Hurricane Isaias to support their preparedness against future disasters.
iParametrics helped us to receive unprecedented grant funding from multiple disasters as well as achieving the third highest grant in the County for needed first responder gear. They are always available to us and extraordinarily responsive and proactive to our needs.
