Greater Naples Fire District Hazard Mitigation Grant Program
January 2, 2025The Northern California Power Agency (NCPA) was established in 1968 to make joint investments in energy resources that would ensure an affordable, reliable, and clean supply of electricity for 16 customers in its member communities. NCPA provides its members with joint purchasing contracts, including this one focused on grant writing support on an on-call basis.
SITUATION
The Grant Writing contract provides NCPA’s 16 members with access to a team of grant writers and managers who can support when needed. This five-year contract includes research for the entire membership, which iParametrics is providing, grant writing, and grant management upon grant funding award.
TASK
In February 2022, this contract was initiated to provide the NCPA members with the opportunity to find grant opportunities from federal, state, local, and foundation sources. These grants can provide infrastructure improvements, environmental support, and safety and modernization funding.
ACTION
Since the start of this contract, we have helped several NCPA members to successfully receive funding through our grant applications. Our team has written and received grants under the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships (GRIP) grant program, the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration grant program, and California Energy Commission’s Bulk Grid Asset Enhancements for Grid Reliability Grant Program.
RESULT
We have assisted the NCPA and its members to receive over $23 million in grant funding, along with ongoing research and marketing. Upon award of these grants, we provide grant management services to ensure compliance with federal funding requirements.
