March 29, 2022The City of Providence, capital city of Rhode Island, is home to over 180,000 residents. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City looked to hire a consultant to assist in recovery efforts by expediting financial recovery and minimizing impacts from future disasters.
SITUATION
In the support of major disaster recovery, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Providence sought to protect its interests by securing the services of a qualified disaster recovery consultant to ensure a rapid recovery and post-disaster redevelopment process.
TASK
iParametrics was selected to assist the City in their recovery process from the COVID-19 pandemic while preparing for future disaster declarations. We are coordinating and managing all FEMA Public Assistance (PA) grant responsibilities while identifying other relief opportunities, including CARES Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) and the American Rescue Plan (ARP).
ACTION
iParametrics is providing the City with comprehensive grant management and cost recovery services, including strategic planning, FEMA PA cost recovery, community outreach, program implementation support, and technical assistance. We are leveraging various grant programs including FEMA PA and CARES CRF, and ARPA, to ensure the most benefit for the City and its residents. We are supporting City staff by providing updates on funding opportunities while preparing key leadership for future recovery initiatives.
RESULT
Our support for the City is ongoing. To date, we have reviewed hundreds of grant applications and distributed over $500,000 worth of funds. Our team has maximized FEMA PA funds, successfully used CARES CRF dollars from the state, and provided strategic advice on the best uses of ARPA funds to create a complete funding solution for the City. We provide compliance reviews and have testified before the finance committee on multiple occasions to keep leadership up-to-date on award status. We are providing strategic advice for program process improvements to further support the City and their initiatives.
